Agartala: Tripura Traffic Police are launching a hardline enforcement drive targeting vehicles fitted with illegal and unsafe lighting. High-intensity headlights and flashing bulbs blind oncoming drivers. They cause accidents. The crackdown zeroes in on unauthorized multi-colored lights, specifically those flashing red, blue, or white.

Authorities are tired of modified gear. Any lighting mimicking emergency or law enforcement vehicles will face strict scrutiny. The department explicitly stated that "vehicle lighting must comply with the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989." These regulations set clear standards under Rule 106 for headlamps and Rule 108 for colored light restrictions.

Owners need to act fast. Strip away the non-compliant systems now to avoid trouble. The police intend to hold violators accountable under the Motor Vehicles Act once the sweep kicks into gear. Officials demand full cooperation to clear the roads of glare and keep visibility sharp for every driver on the pavement.
