Imphal: Manipur Traffic Police cleared unauthorized parking and roadside vendors from Nagamapal Road today. The sweep covered the western stretch from Maharani Thongkha to RIMS Crossing. This area serves as a primary artery for office workers, local businesses, and medical transport.
SP C. Cecelia Sopemla led the operation with support from the City Police Station. Emergency vehicles need this path. Clearing the route is a priority. Officials highlighted the necessity of keeping the road open for ambulances heading to RIMS and nearby hospitals.
The department issued a firm warning to the public. Drivers must use designated parking spots instead of no-parking zones. Vendors must keep stalls off the carriageway. The department stated, "Public cooperation was essential for maintaining smooth traffic movement and keeping emergency routes accessible."
