Agartala: Tripura Tourism and Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury accused Congress and other opposition parties of exploiting the NEET paper leak to manufacture national unrest. Speaking at a press conference at the BJP state headquarters in Agartala, Chowdhury claimed opponents are weaponizing the controversy to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He warned the government will crush any attempts to incite anarchy.
Chowdhury alleged that foreign forces are collaborating with the opposition to damage India's reputation. He claimed the agitation is a desperate attempt to oust the current administration. "The opposition parties are trying to fish in turbid waters with the help of foreign powers," he said.
The minister drew parallels to the UPA era, alleging that exam leaks were common under former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He specifically cited leaked papers for AIIMS, RRB, and various state PSC exams in Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Karnataka. He claimed these cases were never resolved while the Congress held power.
The central government remains prepared to discuss the issue in Parliament. Chowdhury dismissed the current protests as misinformation campaigns designed to confuse students. He pointed to the Prime Minister’s push for fast-track courts as proof of the Centre's commitment to justice. He confirmed that investigators will maintain transparency and hunt down anyone responsible for jeopardizing student futures.
