Agartala: Tripura officials are tightening the screws on skill training. Starting August 1, 2026, all candidates, trainers, and assessors must use the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System. The Directorate of Skill Development issued the order from its ITI Road office in Indranagar. It covers every ongoing and future batch funded by both state and central coffers.
The policy follows the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 guidelines from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Training centers must log entry and exit times for every person inside the building. Everyone needs a minimum 70 percent biometric attendance rate to qualify for final assessments. "The government treasury has been instructed to release funds only for batches where biometric attendance has been properly recorded and submitted," the memorandum stated.
Centers must now secure approved biometric hardware and maintain reliable internet. Each facility needs a designated nodal person and an IT coordinator to handle portal registration. The Directorate sent the directive to District Magistrates, administrative heads, and General Managers of District Industries Centres to ensure immediate compliance across the state.
