Agartala: An air ambulance flying from Agartala to Kolkata diverted to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Bangladesh, following a mid-flight door malfunction. The aircraft carried a patient in critical condition alongside six others. The emergency landing took place during the Durga Puja festival.

Patient Anjana Bhowmik was traveling to Kolkata for medical treatment. Once the aircraft touched down, paramedics moved her to Kurmitola General Hospital. Doctors declared Bhowmik dead shortly after arrival. The flight crew reported that the door opened while they were in the air, forcing the diversion to the nearest available facility.

SKB Infracon Private Limited operated the flight. Captain Punya Anup commanded the aircraft alongside co-pilot Tanuj Sharma. Accompanying Bhowmik were Firoz Khan, paramedic Azim Khan, Santa Bhowmik, and Deep Jyoti Mishra. All other passengers and the crew survived the incident without injury. Official reports confirm the safe landing at the airport, stating, "The aircraft reached Dhaka, where the emergency landing was completed safely."
