Agartala: The Tripura Human Rights Commission has demanded answers. It wants reports from the Director of Secondary Education and the Managing Committee of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial H.S. School in Agartala. Officials are investigating alleged financial and administrative rot inside the PM POSHAN scheme.
The probe stems from Complaint No. 95 of 2026. Uttam Majumder, a teacher at the school, filed the charges against Assistant Headmaster Titu Saha. Majumder took over as MDM in-charge on December 15, 2025. He quickly flagged poor meal quality and hygiene. He never received critical records, including the Food Register, Rice Register, Stock Register, Cash Book, and kitchen keys.
Majumder claims he was fired from his post on May 4, 2026, as retaliation for complaining. He warned authorities on May 3 that he would not take the fall for any missing records. He alleges that Saha funneled scheme funds through a personal bank account rather than the required institutional channels. The teacher wants a full audit of PFMS transactions, vouchers, bills, and supplier records.
The complaint also accuses the school of overcharging students for exam fees. When Majumder pushed back, he says the school orchestrated a smear campaign. He claims students made false allegations against him on August 12 while he was away on official Census duty. The Commission, led by Chairperson Justice Arindam Lodh, noted the gravity of the situation. "Serious allegations of financial corruption affecting the interests of students had been made against the Assistant Headmaster," the Commission stated.
Officials must now conduct an inquiry and file their findings. The Commission set the next hearing for 15 days from now. Majumder is demanding protection from further workplace harassment.
