Agartala: Tripura marked the 11th Ayurveda Day on the streets of Agartala with a spirited awareness rally. Health workers, public members, and government officials marched to promote the ancient medical system as a modern wellness tool. They want better health. National Health Mission Director Saju Wahid led the march alongside West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar.
Wahid confirmed the state is starting its first Ayurvedic Medical College this academic session. Officials also plan to build a Homeopathic Medical College to widen the scope of medical education. Wahid said this year carries special weight for the region. He told the crowd: "The purpose of Ayurveda Day was not only to celebrate the tradition but also to revive and modernise the practice in line with contemporary needs."
Dr. Vishal Kumar praised the philosophy behind the practice. He noted that natural resources can help fight the side effects of modern drugs and rising pollution. The event included a public fair with displays on preventive health and sustainable living. The administration is now pushing to spread this education across all sections of society through research and awareness programs.
