Agartala: Tripura achieved full digital integration for its local government bodies. Every one of the 1,194 gram panchayats and equivalent institutions connected to the e-GramSwaraj-PFMS interface during the 2025-26 financial year. Officials confirmed the 100 percent connectivity rate on Tuesday.
Union Minister for Panchayati Raj Rajiv Ranjan Singh announced the progress in the Lok Sabha. He noted that 1,192 panchayats now use online payment systems. Furthermore, 1,193 Gram Panchayat Development Plans landed on the portal for the same period. The move signals a shift toward complete digital oversight.
The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj pushes the e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project nationwide. This effort includes AuditOnline to keep tabs on books. During the 2024-25 audit cycle, the state generated reports for 1,193 of its 1,194 panchayats. The platform links to Bhashini for AI services and the India Meteorological Department for weather data.
Capacity building remains a priority. Thousands of local leaders and staff attend sessions on data-driven planning and digital governance. Participation spiked recently. Training numbers for Panchayat Development Plans rose from 1,985 in 2022-23 to 17,685 in 2025-26. By July 10 of the current year, another 6,604 people finished the coursework.
The ministry claims these training initiatives boost accountability. "The training initiatives have resulted in increased adoption and use of e-Panchayat applications, while improving the digital capabilities of panchayat personnel and strengthening transparency and efficiency in the Panchayati Raj system," the agency stated. Tripura stands as a high performer in this nationwide push.
