Agartala: Governor N Indrasena Reddy wants the youth of Tripura to lead the charge against tuberculosis. He issued the call during a Wednesday workshop at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala. The event marked the local push for the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan campaign. The Governor noted that eliminating this disease requires more than just medicine. He stated, "The fight against tuberculosis was not merely a medical challenge but also reflected the collective will, social solidarity and commitment to the welfare of every citizen."

RIPSAT, the Department of Health and Family Welfare, and the National Health Mission hosted the gathering. The program aims to find patients faster, improve diagnosis, and boost care for workers in high-risk jobs. Governor Reddy launched the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan mobile app to help reach these targets. He handed out nutritional food kits to current patients and certificates to Nikshay Mitras who support the cause. Groups including NEEPCO, NEDFi, and the Hepatitis Foundation of Tripura received formal recognition for their work.

State TB Officer Nupur Debbarma addressed the crowd. Several survivors shared personal recovery stories. Dr. Anjan Das, Jubilee Debbarma, and Professor Rishiraj Chhetri also attended the session. The Governor wants every gram panchayat to work toward a TB-free status. He claims this reflects the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a healthier nation.
