Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced a state-wide campaign, Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, running from September 17 to October 17. The initiative honors Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in constitutional leadership. Events kick off with Seva Diwas on September 17. Residents will light over six lakh earthen lamps at 7 pm across villages and towns. Blood donation drives will also take place.
Campaign activities will pause momentarily. The ongoing Village Committee election process forces a delay for most events until September 29. Saha noted, "Since the Model Code of Conduct is in force due to the elections of Village Committees of Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), the month-long programme will gain pace from September 29, a day after polling."
The campaign, themed Jan Seva hi Prabhu Seva, highlights welfare programs like Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, PM-Kisan, PM Vishwakarma, Digital India, Make in India, GST, and Direct Benefit Transfer. Local involvement is heavy. Over 4,945 schools will host drawing competitions under the Mere Sapno Ka Bharat banner, while street plays will spread welfare messages through the Namah Seva initiative. Officials will visit all 10,479 Anganwadi centres to bridge gaps in benefit delivery. Bicycle and motorcycle rallies will touch 1,193 villages and 21 towns.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy leads the monitoring committee alongside other ministers, officials, and district magistrates. In a separate announcement, Saha addressed the Uniform Civil Code. He confirmed Tripura is ready to implement the common legal framework for marriage, divorce, and succession if the Centre issues a formal direction. He noted the policy might exclude the state’s tribal areas.

Saha confirmed the 25-year service timeline tracks back to October 7, 2001, when Modi first took the oath as Gujarat Chief Minister. The month-long effort will feature a 12-point program built around themes including Sushasan Samvad, Seva Ki Kahani, and a Seva First Innovation Challenge. Beyond the initial rallies, the state will run 85 mega camps between September 29 and October 17 at block headquarters, urban centers, and four specific zones in Agartala to push scheme access.
To ensure oversight, Saha assigned specific districts to his cabinet. Santwana Chakma and Shukla Charan Noatia will lead efforts in North Tripura, while Sushanta Chowdhury manages Unakoti. Ratan Lal Nath oversees Dhalai, Tinku Roy takes Khowai, and Bikash Debbarma handles Sepahijala. Gomati falls under Kishor Barman and Animesh Debbarma, with Sudhangshu Das and Brishaketu Debbarma covering South Tripura. The Department of Information and Cultural Affairs will serve as the nodal agency for the campaign rollout.
