Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha ordered officials to push harder on research, innovation, and modern technology. He wants these tools to drive development and boost living standards for people across the state. The CM spoke Thursday at a review meeting held at Conference Hall-1 in the Secretariat.
TSCST Secretary Chaitanya Murthy walked the board through current initiatives. The list includes the Science City, Udaipur Science Centre, Sukanta Academy, and the use of space technology. The Council aims to spread scientific thinking to students and expand infrastructure. Science is the backbone of growth today, Saha said. He told officials to act fast on projects while keeping quality high. The goal is to bridge the gap between schools and the public.
Principal Secretary K. Sashi Kumar led a report on the Tripura State Pollution Control Board. He reviewed air, water, and noise pollution, alongside waste management and environmental laws. The board handles clearances for industries and monitors the state's environmental quality. Inspections are coming. Saha ordered staff to keep constant watch on pollution.
He flagged the proper disposal of biomedical and hazardous waste from hospitals, hotels, and nursing homes as a priority. Staff must perform regular inspections to enforce environmental regulations. Saha expects clean operations and real results.
