Agartala: State officials held a second round of talks with landowners at the Rajarshi auditorium in Udaipur on Monday. This meeting marked another step for Tripura's first satellite town project. Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy confirmed the Land Pooling Scheme is moving ahead. He said the state plans to build similar towns in three districts, with Gomati leading the way.
Gomati Zilla Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy and Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumder attended the session alongside the District Magistrate and Sub-Divisional Magistrate. The Minister insists that land is the core of this project. He wants a participatory approach to keep construction on track. Cooperation is the goal.
The proposed site aims to feature planned roads, better connectivity, and upgraded healthcare and education facilities. Planners also included parks, green spaces, and modern civic amenities in the blueprint. The government hopes these changes will improve daily life for locals.
Singha Roy credited the district administration for the current pace of progress. He believes the project fulfills long-term public needs rather than just government quotas. "With everyone's cooperation, let us build a more developed and modern Udaipur for the future," the minister said.
