Three inmates escape Golaghat hospital on stolen police bike

Guwahati: Three prisoners bolted from the Shaheed Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital in Assam early on July 26. They vanished around 5 am. Najibur Rahman, Rupam Kalita, and Ajay Gowala exploited a security breakdown while held in the hospital captive ward.

Rahman is the prime suspect in a Golaghat triple murder case. The men seized a motorcycle belonging to the police officers assigned to guard them before fleeing the premises. Reports indicate the guard on duty fell asleep during his shift, allowing the trio to slip away unnoticed.

Police launched a massive search operation across the district immediately after the breakout. Officers set up checkpoints at key locations and alerted neighboring districts to watch for the fugitives. Authorities are currently conducting raids at multiple sites to track down the men. Officials have opened an investigation to determine exactly how the security breach happened.
