Police Bust Two Suspected Vehicle Thieves in Assam

Guwahati: Batadrava Police agents in Assam's Nagaon district cuffed two men yesterday. The suspects, Ajmal Hussain and Jehirul Islam Choudhury, allegedly ran a major international vehicle theft ring. They moved stolen cars from Nagaon across state lines and into foreign countries. The operation ended after a victim named Julhas Ali filed a formal complaint. Officers launched a targeted sting based on that report.

Authorities are still digging into the mechanics of this operation. They have not released data on the volume of vehicles or specific trafficking routes. Investigators continue to track how far the network reaches. Police spokesperson noted the situation remains active: "The allegations against the arrested individuals are subject to investigation."
