Guwahati: Burglars hit a grocery store in Assam's Bongaigaon district early Tuesday. They cleared out Rs 2 lakh worth of stock. The break-in happened at Nitya Bazar inside the South Boitamari Police Outpost jurisdiction. It started at 2:52 am.
The thieves broke the shop lock to get inside. They grabbed high-value items and fled. Every second of the crime was caught on internal CCTV cameras. The footage provides investigators with clear leads to identify the culprits.
Boitamari Police arrived at the scene to gather evidence and pull the digital files. They are working to find the people responsible. Police said, "Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved in the burglary, and further investigation is in progress."
Traders at Nitya Bazar are rattled. They want more protection. Shopkeepers are now demanding better security and regular night patrols to stop future thefts.
