Short Circuit Sparks Major Blaze at New Colony House

Kohima: A fire tore through a home at New Colony in Purana Bazaar on Friday. The blaze destroyed a four-room brick house with metal roofing. Flames broke out at 11:30 a.m. Firefighters rushed to the scene.

Three fire tenders arrived quickly to battle the heat. They brought the fire under control. Central Fire & Emergency Services officials confirmed the total damage is roughly 70 lakh rupees. Property inside the home turned to ash.

Investigators looked into the cause. They point to a short circuit as the spark for the disaster. "Preliminary investigation suggested that the fire was triggered by a short circuit," officials stated. Fortunately, no one died or suffered injuries in the incident.
