Public Health Engineering Starts Pipeline Testing in Shillong

Shillong: Public Health Engineering crews head to the streets tomorrow. They begin testing the 300mm diameter gravity main for the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme Phase III on October 30. This line feeds the Mawpat Reservoir.

The test covers a significant stretch of the city. The pipe runs from Keating Road near Lady Keane College through Police Bazar and Jail Road. It continues along Municipal Road toward the Polo Tower junction before hitting the PWD Road to reach Langkyrding. Keep your distance. The department warned the public to stay off the pipeline Right of Way while workers run the pressure checks to prevent accidents. As the Chief Engineer stated, "The critical path of the gravity main extends from Keating Road near Lady Keane College to Polo via Police Bazar and Jail Road."
