Phek Official Demands Faster Completion of Water and Sanitation Projects

Kohima: Phek Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori gathered the District Level Committee for Water and Sanitation Mission today at the DC Conference Hall. He serves as the committee chairman. He ordered all departments to pick up the pace on stalled Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission work. It must get done.

Executive Engineer for Public Health Engineering Department Narisen Jami reviewed the district status. She detailed progress on Functional Household Tap Connections and current sanitation schemes. Jami highlighted the hurdles stalling progress. She urged village councils and the committee to help reach the Har Ghar Jal declaration, stating, "request all concerned departments, village councils and DWSM committee to extend necessary cooperation for completion of pending activities and certification processes."

The meeting included updates from several agencies. The District Education Officer reported on school water access. The District Project Officer for ICDS tracked coverage in Anganwadi centers. Finally, the Block Development Officer from the Rural Development Department presented their specific project status for the district.
