Phek Officials Push for Completion of Water Projects

Kohima: Phek district officials met at the DC Conference Hall on August 13 to assess progress on the Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission. DC Rhosietho Nguori, who chairs the District Level Committee for Water and Sanitation Mission, led the session. The meeting focused on finishing outstanding water and sanitation projects across the district.

Executive Engineer Narisen Jami detailed the current status of Functional Household Tap Connections. Jami also outlined major roadblocks hindering the work. She addressed the committee, stating, "She stressed the urgency of Har Ghar Jal (HGJ) Declaration and requested all concerned departments, village councils and DWSM committee to extend necessary cooperation for completion of pending activities and certification processes."

Department heads provided specific reports on local infrastructure. The District Education Officer reported on school water access. The District Project Officer for ICDS presented data on Anganwadi center coverage. Finally, the Block Development Officer from the Rural Development Department detailed JJM works currently under their oversight.

Nguori demanded results. He ordered all departments to ramp up their efforts. The committee needs to close out all pending JJM and SBM activities immediately.
