Kohima: A new traditional meeting hall, the Nyekhatso-Shema Khühu, opened in Chozuba village on July 18. Küduve Keyho, Personal Secretary to the Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division of Nagaland, led the inauguration ceremony in the Phek district. Dimapur Deputy Commissioner of Police Khrüsa Keyho built the site to house community talks on local development.
Küduve Keyho spoke to the crowd about strengthening village bonds. He emphasized ongoing projects in the 18th Chozuba Assembly constituency led by Advisor Kudecho Khamo. He stated, "Do not politicise development works but to support them for the common good."
Village leaders noted the deep roots of the building. Chozuba Village Council chairman Lhusetso Shijoh reminded attendees that the location hosted early Christian evangelism starting in 1895. He added that the Khühu remains a vital spot for solving conflicts, sharing local knowledge, and holding public debates.
Former village council chairman Dusapra Nyekha asked youth to protect the facility. Nyekhatso Shema Welfare Organisation chairman Vethito Keyho gave a progress report on the build. Secretary Pudutso Nyekha led the program, while Head Gaon Bura Zasevoyi Ringa and Shemami GB Thuyengoyi Keyho also spoke at the event.
