Kohima: The NSCN (IM) accused Indian security forces of harassing civilians during unauthorized raids on Wednesday. Troops conducted door-to-door searches without judicial warrants in TM Kasom, Makuilongdi, and surrounding villages. The group claims soldiers abducted four innocent people, transforming once-peaceful homes into zones of fear.
These actions violate established Ceasefire Ground Rules. The group insists the bilateral agreement does not permit forces to act on their own whims. The MIP issued a statement challenging the state, asking if India prefers peace through force or genuine dialogue. "It is not an agreement giving them sole rights to act on their own whims and fancy," the statement read.
The organization wants an immediate, independent investigation into the alleged misconduct. They demand international human rights monitors enter the area to track the situation. Officials claim these violations damage the credibility of ongoing peace talks. The NSCN (IM) maintains that the Indo-Naga political issue requires mutual trust and respect rather than the barrel of a gun. Leaders remain resolutely committed to their cause at all costs.
