NSCN-IM Blasts Reported Drone Attacks on Naga Villages in Myanmar

Imphal: The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN/NSCN-IM) blasted two reported drone strikes in Naga areas of Myanmar. They claim these attacks killed civilians and involved roughly 60 explosive devices.

A drone hit the residence of NSCN-K (Yung Aung) Brigadier Akham Konyak at Langkho village on October 3. Two civilians died in that strike. A second attack hit the Mt. Horeb Camp in the Naga Self-Administered Zone on October 11. Drones dropped approximately 60 explosives during that early morning operation.

The organization labeled the strikes as indiscriminate. They stated, "no political, military or ideological justification could excuse actions that endangered civilian lives."

GPRN officials called for a transparent, impartial investigation by regional stakeholders and international observers. They want those responsible held to account. The group pushed for dialogue over military force to settle local political disputes.

The organization also flatly denied any involvement in the Mt. Horeb assault. They asserted they had no role in planning or executing the strike. No personnel or aerial assets under their command were near the camp that day.
