Kohima: The NSCN (IM) issued a statement Monday condemning a deadly raid on Bitiang village. One volunteer from the Western Command of the Naga Village Guard and the Joint Tribes Council Manipur died during the July 29 clash. The organization labeled the event an unprovoked attack against the Naga community.
Militants accused the Zeliangrong United Front (Jiangchui) of orchestrating the violence. They claim these fighters acted alongside CoBRA units of the Indian Central Reserve Police Force. This alleged partnership threatens the integrity of state forces. The NSCN (IM) stated, "We mourn the loss of a brave Martyr who gave his life protecting his village and community."
The group insists the incident represents a grave assault on the right to security. They argue that Indian forces have abandoned neutrality by supporting armed aggressors. The organization demands accountability for the fallen volunteer.
