Imphal: The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (GPRN) formally terminated Lt. Gen. Hs. Ramsan (Retd.) and Lt. Gen. Absalom Raman. The purge followed a 48-point disciplinary statement. Officials expelled the men to protect the Naga national movement. This ends a dispute stretching back to 2019.
The GPRN alleges the pair repeatedly ignored orders to report to Council Headquarters in Hebron. They rejected official appointments and refused to take the required Oath of Allegiance. They built a parallel government instead. The Ministry of Information and Publicity claims these acts violated the Yehzabo constitution and harmed organizational unity.
Ramsan and his followers face serious criminal accusations. The GPRN links them to the November 2023 robbery of the Punjab National Bank, Viewland Branch, in Ukhrul. They allegedly disarmed and abducted Naga Army personnel while seizing weapons. They also extorted public funds. The group reportedly formed unauthorized ties with foreign entities and armed factions, including the NNC/FGN, KNO/KNA-B, and the PDF in Myanmar.
Leadership tried for years to fix the rift. They sent peace missions and used church leaders and civil society to encourage reconciliation between 2024 and 2026. The Collective Leadership even offered presidential pardons and amnesty. Nothing worked. The National Security Council finally took action.
The leadership expelled both generals effective June 24, 2026. Six senior associates followed them out on July 7. The GPRN declared, "Reaffirming the constitutional principle of One Party, One Government, the GPRN has directed all NSCN members presently operating under the so-called Eastern Flank to immediately report to the Council Headquarters in Hebron or the General Headquarters." Failure to comply invites punishment under military law.
