Imphal: The National People's Party appointed Rajya Sabha MP and National Working President James Sangma as convenor for its Manipur Political and Election Coordination Committee. National General Secretary Mmhonlumo Kikon will serve as co-convenor. Both men start work immediately. They will oversee political activities, organizational mobilization, and electoral planning across the state.

These leaders answer to the party national president. Their mandate includes coordinating with state-level officials and elected representatives to firm up support. They must assess constituency preparedness and streamline communication from the state level down to individual polling stations. The committee will also manage candidate consultations and report findings to party leadership.

Central command retains the final say. Article 14 of the NPP Constitution dictates that the Central Election Committee holds the ultimate power to approve candidates. Party rules demand that any proposed seat-sharing deals or political alliances go to the national president before anyone mentions them in public. As the order states, the appointees are responsible for "ensuring that political and electoral announcements reflect duly approved party decisions."

This team acts as the central hub for Manipur operations. They will submit regular reports to the national president to resolve internal disputes. This directive stays in effect until the party issues further orders.
