NLFB leaders demand faster peace talks in Kokrajhar

Guwahati: The National Liberation Front of Bodoland marked six years of ceasefire on Wednesday. Leaders gathered at Auguri in Jaharbari, located in the Kokrajhar district of Assam, to observe the group's sixth foundation day. They want results. Chairman I.B. Bungthigora kicked off the proceedings by hoisting the organization flag before army chief M. Batha honored fallen members with floral tributes.

Talks have stalled. During an open meeting, leadership voiced deep frustration over the pace of the current peace process. They claim the government has failed to take meaningful steps to advance negotiations despite the ceasefire holding for six years. The group now demands immediate engagement to resolve their outstanding issues. As the organization stated, they are calling on the government to "initiate discussions at the earliest to address its demands and take the peace process forward."
