Kokrajhar sisters strike gold, earn national games bid

Guwahati: Sisters Smriti and Sinaithi Basumatary brought gold home to Assam. They dominated the CBSE National Taekwondo Championship in Panipat, Haryana. The competition ran from September 19 to 24. Both siblings competed in the Under-19 bracket and walked away with top honors.

These wins punch their tickets to the 70th National School Games. The event happens in Ranchi from November 26 to 30. The sisters represent Assam on the national stage.
