Dima Hasao athletes strike gold-level success at National Taekwondo Championship

Guwahati: Manish Rongmai earned a bronze medal at the 2026 National Taekwondo Championship. The event took place in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from October 2 to 4. Competing in the Sub-Junior Poomsae category, the ten-year-old showcased elite skills. He lives in Sarkari Bagan, Haflong. He is the son of Rajen Rongmai and Anita Chetri. He studies in Class V at Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Other local athletes dominated the mats. Bhumika Boro walked away with two silver medals. Dipika Boro added another silver to the district haul. Anushka Ghimire also represented the region in the Junior category. These results bring national recognition to Dima Hasao. As officials noted, "The achievements of the young players have brought recognition to Dima Hasao’s growing taekwondo talent at the national level."
