Shillong: The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences in Meghalaya is hiring staff for a clinical trial. The study examines the effectiveness of Ayurveda regimens and macronutrient supplements as adjuncts to standard anti-tuberculosis treatment for adults. Scientists want to measure the impact on body weight, nutrition, and overall quality of life.
Positions include a Project Research Scientist I (Medical), a Senior Research Fellow (Ayurveda), a Lab Technician, a Project Nurse III, and a Project Technical Support III (Social Work). Each post pays a monthly base salary plus 10 percent house rent allowance. The medical scientist role requires an MBBS and pays 67,000 rupees. The Ayurveda fellow needs a BAMS degree and earns 42,000 rupees. The nurse and social work roles offer 28,000 rupees, while the lab technician receives 18,000 rupees.
Interested candidates for the nurse and social work positions must submit a standard application form and CV to the Department of Microbiology in Shillong. Deadline is August 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The institute will post a list of eligible applicants online before the interview.
