Kohima: Nagaland Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen launched the Labour Chowk mobile application this Wednesday in Kohima. The app moves the state’s construction labor market from street corners to a digital platform. It aims to modernize how building and construction workers find jobs. The initiative comes from the state’s Department through the Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
The app connects registered workers directly with employers. It also tracks welfare schemes and skill development programs. This move targets increased transparency for the entire sector. The official report states: "The application initiated by the Department of through the Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (NBOCWB), aims to modernise and streamline employment services for Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) in the state."
Workers can download the app via the Google Play Store by searching for Nagaland Labour Chowk. Both employers and laborers can also sign up at the web portal labourchowk.nagaland.gov.in. The platform handles registration, job searches, and labor engagement in one place. It serves as a single hub for benefits across the state.
