Kohima: Nagaland Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen launched a WhatsApp chatbot on Friday to connect citizens with state skill development services. The tool went live during a steering committee meeting at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall in Kohima. It works as a single-window portal for residents to ask about training programs, skill loans, and the Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative. It also tracks compliance and provides general mission updates.
The system aims to strip away manual paperwork and speed up service delivery. The mission also inked a deal with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Kohima. This partnership focuses on digital capacity building and job growth for the state's youth. The two groups will work together on certification, quality assurance, and entrepreneurship.
NIELIT Kohima will build a unified skilling portal under the agreement. "The MoU provides for collaboration in key areas, including skill development, certification and quality assurance, placement and employment, digital infrastructure, entrepreneurship and innovation, and institutional capacity building," officials noted. The new digital portal should be up and running by December 2026.
