Kohima: The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority predicts rain and lightning across the state starting September 15. The forecast spans four days. It ends on September 18.
Rain hits Longleng, Mokokchung, and Mon on September 15. Expect thunderstorms in Dimapur, Peren, and Phek. Wokha sees light rain. Noklak and Tuensang face lightning and rain. Skies remain partly cloudy over Chümoukedima, Kiphire, Kohima, Meluri, Niuland, Shamator, Tseminyu, and Zunheboto.
Thunderstorms strike Longleng and Mon on September 16. The agency expects lightning and light rain for Chümoukedima, Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Niuland, Noklak, Shamator, Tseminyu, Tuensang, Wokha, and Zunheboto. Meluri, Peren, and Phek also face storms. Kiphire has no active warnings for the day.
September 17 brings a break. No weather warnings are in effect for any district.
Weather turns again on September 18. Noklak, Phek, Shamator, and Zunheboto see rain and lightning. Kiphire and Meluri face thunderstorms. Mon and Tuensang get light rain. Peren, Tseminyu, and Wokha turn overcast. Chümoukedima, Kohima, and Niuland remain partly cloudy. Dimapur, Longleng, and Mokokchung are clear of warnings.
Longleng expects the most rain at 42.96 mm. Mon follows with 40.66 mm. Rainfall in Mokokchung reaches 34.80 mm, Tuensang 26.99 mm, and Noklak 26.85 mm. Wokha, Shamator, and Zunheboto receive lower amounts. The authority issued a clear directive to the public: "The NSDMA advised the public to regularly monitor the latest weather updates through the Safer Nagaland mobile application and NSDMA Weather Portal, follow official advisories and exercise caution during thunderstorms and periods of rainfall."
