Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma opened the new Deputy Commissioner’s office in Siaha on Friday. He stood alongside 40-Palak MLA K. Hrahmo and high-ranking state officials to mark the occasion. The project cost 5.09 crore rupees under the North Eastern Development Programme.
Work started on October 31, 2018. Crews finished on December 1, 2025. The structure features 29 rooms split between two levels: 17 on the ground floor and 12 above. Lalduhoma thanked locals who gave up land for free. He called the building a "landmark development for Siaha district and Mizoram."
District Bawrhsap V.L. Hruaizela Khiangte celebrated the move. The headquarters spent years in temporary quarters. Now, they have a permanent home. The Chief Minister pushed for more progress across the region. He pointed to ongoing work funded by various central government schemes.
Lalduhoma also addressed the state's tight budget. He reminded local bodies and the Mizoram Finance Commission to stick to their allotted shares. He noted the current financial struggle of the Mara Autonomous District Council. He promised a One Time Grant to help them clear their hurdles.

Lalduhoma outlined further state projects for the district, confirming the construction of government quarters, a circuit house, and an SDO civil office and quarters at Tipa. He noted that the government is weighing the grant for the 25-member Mara Autonomous District Council to ensure a stable local administration.
