Aizawl: Mizoram is beefing up its Public Service Commission. The state government intends to add staff and infrastructure to handle a massive surge in recruitment requests. Chief Minister Lalduhoma led a review meeting of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms on July 21 to set the plan in motion.
DP&AR Secretary Udit Prakash Rai told officials that state agencies now funnel almost all hiring through the commission. The numbers back him up. During the 2025-26 financial year, the commission ran 142 exams, finalized 57 results, and hosted 292 Departmental Promotion Committee meetings. Rai said, "The MPSC conducted 142 examinations, declared 57 results and held 292 Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings during the 2025-26 financial year."
Lalduhoma wants better efficiency. He ordered a full review of all vacant and filled posts across the state. His administration also plans to start a systematic employee transfer policy and launch online monitoring for all personnel.
Public complaints are also under the microscope. The Mipui Aw portal opened on February 16, 2024. Since then, citizens filed 672 complaints. Officials cleared 613 of them, though 45 complex cases remain stuck in the queue.
Digital transformation is the goal. All administrative departments in the secretariat use the e-Office system now. Eight additional departments already adopted the platform. The government ordered every remaining department to switch to the digital system immediately to speed up service delivery.
