Shillong: The Meghalaya government launched a wide-ranging administrative shake-up on Friday. The Personnel and AR (A) department issued orders detailing new assignments for dozens of IAS and MCS officers. These changes start the moment officials take their new desks.
Dr. Sampath Kumar adds Home (Political) to his duties. Mebanshailang R. Synrem moves to Community and Rural Development, leaving his Health and Family Welfare post. Rosetta M. Kurbah also picks up the Home (Political) portfolio. Secretary Ramkumar S. takes on Social Welfare, Finance, and Forest and Environment.
Several officials saw their roles trimmed. Vijay Kumar Mantri exits the Samagra Shiksha mission. Cyril VD Diengdoh leaves the ADB-funded Integrated Tourism and Agri Livelihood Project. Swapnil Tembe drops his Finance role. Ramakrishna Chitturi exits as CEO of the Meghalaya State Rural Livelihood Society.
Middle-level officers face significant rotations. Jagdish Chelani takes charge of Employment and Craftsmen Training. Mitali Chandra assumes control of the Integrated Tourism and Agri Livelihood Project, the Meghalaya Urban Development Agency, and the DAY-NULM mission. Richa Kulkarni now leads the Education Department, School Education and Literacy, and Samagra Shiksha. She also acts as Additional CEO of STEMS.
Iadashisha Majaw moves to the Power Department and takes over as Director (Corporate Affairs) for MeECL and its subsidiaries. Banteilang J. Kharshandi shifts to Labour Commissioner. Shivansh Awasthi adds Mining and Geology, Forest and Environment, and MBMA Executive Director to his plate. The official order stated, "all postings and additional assignments will take effect from the dates the officers assume charge and will remain in force until further orders."
