Guwahati: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet confirmed a massive bureaucratic shakeup on October 10. Twenty-seven officers now face new postings across key federal ministries and agencies. The Department of Personnel and Training authorized these moves, all at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix.
Varnali Deka, a 2009-batch IAS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, moves to the National Health Authority. She serves as Joint Secretary for five years through August 28, 2030. Ashish Madhaorao joins her at the National Health Authority as Additional Chief Executive Officer.
The health sector sees more personnel shifts. Mohammed Y Safirulla K and Ritu Sharma take posts as Joint Secretaries in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Other key appointments include Brijesh Panday as Joint Secretary in the Department of Capital Development and Nikhil Varma as Additional Director General of Foreign Trade. Tanvi Sundriyal takes over at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, while Inderjeet Singh moves to the Ministry of Culture. Prakash Rajpurohit becomes Deputy Election Commissioner for the Election Commission of India. Tamboli Ayyaj Fakirbhai lands at the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India as Executive Director.
The Ministry of Home Affairs receives five new officials: Ravi Shanakar, Chittaranjan Dash, P Manoj Kumar, and Abhishek Bhagotia as Joint Secretaries. Vivek Khare starts as Joint Secretary in the National Testing Agency. Other placements include Navin Agarwal at Legal Affairs, M Ramachandrudu at Minority Affairs, Sonia Pant at NITI Aayog, and Nitin Kumar at the Central Vigilance Commission. C Murugan takes a role at Road Transport and Highways, while Rajneesh Kumar Tomar leads National Highways Logistics Management Limited. Nishtha Tiwari heads the board for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities. Manisha Trighatia, Avinash Jain, Pawan Kumar, and Anita Shah Akella fill roles in Urban Development, Water Resources, River Conservation, and the National Commission for Women.
Official orders confirm the duration of these appointments, noting terms last until "further orders, whichever is earlier."
