Shillong: Meghalaya election officials are wrapping up the enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Work began on June 30. Progress remains steady across East Khasi Hills, West Garo Hills, and East Jaintia Hills. Authorities rely on Booth Level Officers to manage the influx of data.

In East Khasi Hills, distribution hit 84.96 percent for its 5.62 lakh electors according to one report, while the Deputy Commissioner office noted 3.44 lakh forms distributed out of 4.08 lakh electors across 15 constituencies. Digitisation efforts trail behind. Only 21.51 percent of forms are complete in that district. Mawkynrew leads distribution at 97.09 percent. Mawsynram tops the digitisation charts at 32.72 percent. Mawryngkneng, Mawlai, North Shillong, East Shillong, and Pynthorumkhrah also report high distribution counts. BLOs staffed 898 polling stations on Saturday to collect documents.

West Garo Hills reports a 93.7 percent coverage rate. District Election Officer Vibhor Aggarwal oversaw the process in South Tura, where 3.72 lakh forms reached residents out of 3.96 lakh total electors. Digitisation is moving fast with 1.86 lakh forms processed. In East Jaintia Hills, distribution reached 91.03 percent of 1.04 lakh voters. Sutnga Saipung nearly finished at 98.14 percent. Khliehriat sits at 83.99 percent. Over half of all Jaintia forms are already digitised.

The District SIR Helpline successfully resolved all 98 queries received during the process. Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal urged residents to assist the teams. He said, "The enumeration phase, which began on June 30, is a critical step in ensuring the accuracy and sanctity of the state’s electoral rolls." Officials warn residents to contact BLOs or EROs if they still lack their forms.
