Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh promised to guard citizen privacy during the state's digital shift. He spoke Wednesday, August 5, at a workshop focused on digital governance, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. The Information Technology Department teamed up with Microsoft India for the event. The partnership aims to build a future-ready state through better public service delivery.

Singh wants a digitally empowered Manipur. He expects the project to help everyone in the state. Microsoft plans to train youth, entrepreneurs, and government staff in AI and security. These skills target growth in agriculture, healthcare, tourism, education, and digital services. Boosting these sectors creates jobs and fosters innovation.

Government officials hope these tools will make services more transparent and reliable for all residents. Singh emphasized that security stays at the heart of the plan. "Our goal is to create a secure, citizen-centric and inclusive digital ecosystem where every citizen, irrespective of location, has access to efficient, transparent and reliable government services," Singh said.
