Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh met with ITBP Inspector General Clay Khongsai on Wednesday, August 5. The two officials gathered at the state secretariat in Imphal to address the internal security situation. They reviewed law enforcement efforts and civil-military civic action programs. Security is the goal.
Singh praised the Indo-Tibetan Border Police for their work on the ground. The agency has improved public safety through various healthcare and welfare initiatives. These programs build trust with local communities. "The State Government remains committed to close coordination with all security agencies to ensure lasting peace, stability and public welfare," the chief minister stated.
Clay Khongsai brings experience to the role. He is a 1996-batch IPS officer who formerly served as Manipur’s Additional Director General of Police. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs appointed him to his current ITBP post in August 2023. The administration plans to keep working with all security branches to maintain order.
