Manipur Chief Minister Boosts Secretariat Security Amid Ongoing Instability

Imphal: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met with top officials at the Secretariat in Babupara today to overhaul security protocols. He gathered with Home Minister K. Govindas Konthoujam, Minister Kh. Loken Singh, and other senior staff to review current safety measures at the Civil Secretariat. The team finalized new deployment plans to take effect immediately. They want to keep administrative work running without interruptions.

This push for tighter security follows a session yesterday between the Chief Minister and Indo-Tibetan Border Police Inspector General Clay Khongsai. They talked through internal law enforcement and state security gaps. The pair also discussed civil-military civic action programs aimed at the public. The Chief Minister later praised the ITBP for their work on the ground.

"I appreciated the ITBP’s role in strengthening public security and lauded its Civic Action Programmes for promoting community trust through welfare and healthcare initiatives," the Chief Minister posted online. The state government remains focused on keeping forces and civilian leadership in lockstep. Officials are working to restore normalcy across Manipur through tighter coordination and reinforced infrastructure.
