Imphal: Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda visited Imphal on Thursday, July 16, to call for peace in Manipur. He arrived at the official residence of Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh alongside his wife, Manipuri actor Linthoingambi Laishram. The group discussed the state’s tense law and order situation. Hooda congratulated Singh on taking the top office during such a volatile period. He urged residents to put aside differences and move forward as one family.
Singh acknowledged the heavy burden of his position. He remains optimistic about the future. The Chief Minister pointed to his recent work in the Jiribam district as a sign of progress. He reported that community trust has improved and local residents are living together in a peaceful atmosphere again. The state government is currently pouring resources into supporting displaced and affected citizens.
Singh issued a direct plea for collective action from the public. "Every possible measure was being taken to support affected people," Singh stated while advocating for continued cooperation. The day ended on a traditional note. The Chief Minister, Hooda, and Laishram shared a meal of khechri to mark the Rath Yatra, or Kang, festival celebrations.
