Imphal: The Manipur State Commission for Women teamed up with the National Commission for Women to host the state's first Yashoda AI awareness event. The one-day workshop took place July 22 at the Jubilee Hall of D.M. College of Teacher Education. Organizers focused on digital literacy, online safety, and self-reliance.
MSCW Chairperson Th. Tiningpham Monsang warned attendees about the rising threat of cyber fraud and scams. She told the crowd, "AI's potential in driving innovation" must be weighed against its risks. Participants received direct advice from banking and technology experts on how to spot fake messages and secure digital transactions.
Expert Lamyanba Waikhom led a session on pedagogy and education. He explained how artificial intelligence reshapes learning and supports teachers in the classroom. The event drew a crowd of local residents, teachers, and students.
Key officials also joined the session. Attendees included MSCW member Sk. Sophia, Member Secretary W. Phajatombi Devi, and Dr. Anita Kangabam, the Principal-in-Charge of D.M. College of Teacher Education. The program is part of a nationwide push to give women the skills to safely use modern technology.
