Kohima: The Longsa Youth Organisation swore in its new leadership team on August 8. The event took place at the Longsa Village Community Hall. Benri Ezung, Chairman of the Longsa Government Employees’ Union, attended as the special guest.
Ezung told the crowd that trust takes time to build. One mistake ruins it. He urged the new members to lead with sincerity and commitment. He also demanded better coordination between the youth group and other village bodies. He labeled the youth a powerful force, claiming they must hold authorities accountable when necessary.
The guest speaker warned against greed. He urged the members to seek the wisdom of village elders. Ezung noted that the younger generation must evolve. “The younger generation cannot continue to approach issues with the mindset of decades ago,” Ezung said. He also praised the organization for documenting community heritage in its recent booklet.
Newly elected President Y Limhathung Ezung thanked the community for their support. He pledged to lead with dignity. He asked members to stand together against future challenges. The new roster includes Vice President A. Amos Ezung, General Secretary Wobenthung T Humtsoe, Finance Secretary Lijianthung Lotha, and Assistant Finance Secretary Renbemo Kikon. Treasurer L Bidemo Ezung and Statistical Secretary Lenthio N Ezung also joined the team. Rounding out the board are Assistant Statistical Secretary K Zarenthung Ezung, Information Secretary Nrithung Ezung, Assistant Information Secretary R. Apango Ezung, Organising Secretary Tsentosthung W Kikon, and Assistant Organising Secretary Shandemo Humtsoe.
