Kohima: The Longsa Youth Organisation (LYO) inducted its new leadership team on August 8 at the Longsa Village Community Hall. Benri Ezung, chairman of the Longsa Government Employees’ Union, served as the special guest for the event. He challenged the new officers to build trust through steady work. Trust is fragile. He warned that a single error can dismantle hard-earned credibility.

Ezung pushed for tight coordination between the youth group and other village institutions. He labeled the youth a powerful force, capable of holding authorities to account when required. He also advised the members to avoid excessive ambition. He told the assembly, "the younger generation cannot continue to approach issues with the mindset of decades ago." The group must adapt to a modern world while still seeking the wisdom of their elders.

The guest speaker praised the LYO for releasing a booklet detailing the village's heritage. He emphasized that the youth act as custodians of their culture. Newly elected president Y. Limhathung Ezung thanked the community for their support. He pledged to lead with dignity and urged members to stand united against future challenges.

The new LYO leadership includes President Y. Limhathung Ezung, Vice President A. Amos Ezung, General Secretary Wobenthung T. Humtsoe, Finance Secretary Lijianthung Lotha, and Assistant Finance Secretary Renbemo Kikon. Treasurer L. Bidemo Ezung and Statistical Secretary Lenthio N. Ezung joined the team alongside Assistant Statistical Secretary K. Zarenthung Ezung. Rounding out the board are Information and Publicity Secretary Nrithung Ezung, Assistant Information and Publicity Secretary R. Apango Ezung, Organising Secretary Tsentosthung W.
