Imphal: The Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) MC Unification declared a public boycott of Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noor Hassan. The armed group also banned the politician from contesting any future elections. They claim he is tied to a massive financial fraud involving the firm Paari Mutual Benefit Nidhi Ltd and Halal Finance at New Checkon Hatta.
PRO Chingkheinganba KCP, Lamyanba Khuman, issued the statement on behalf of the outfit. He alleged the firm operated under the chairmanship of the MLA’s brother, Sheikh Abdul Hakim, who currently serves as Director of the Social Welfare Department for the Government of Manipur. Another brother, Sheikh Noor Rahman, who works as India’s Ambassador to Lebanon, is also accused of association with the scheme.
The outfit claims the firm siphoned Rs. 45,95,03,500 in public deposits. They labeled the theft a grave offence against the public. The group demanded government authorities launch a thorough investigation into Hakim. They gave all three brothers 72 hours to surrender or face what they described as “serious action.”
