Shillong: Dedicated for Public Transformation Jaintia Hills Society handed over a new home to seven siblings in Tum Tum village on September 19. The group, active since 2015, focuses on helping those in deep hardship. The siblings, four boys and three girls, lost their parents early in life. The house stands near Sahsniang in the West Jaintia Hills district.
A brief ceremony preceded the handover. Rev Dr E M Ch Passah offered words of encouragement alongside local leaders. The relatives of the children expressed their thanks. DPT chairman Pyndap Shadap pushed the children to stay disciplined. He told the group, "Although their parents were no longer with them, God sees and cares for everyone."
Village headman Wanpyrkhat Lyngdoh and DPT secretary Rimiki Dkhar spoke at the event. Other members present included Iaishah Sutong, Christine Sten, and Aidashisha Lyngdoh. The organization continues its mission to serve and uplift local residents.
