This move follows heavy pressure from the Jaintia Students Union. One day before the postponement, the JSU pushed the state government to halt the process. They cited claims of serious irregularities during previous hiring cycles. The group formally wrote to the Commissioner and Secretary of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department to demand action. They want an "independent, time-bound inquiry into the recruitment process."
