Kur Kharpran Honors Former Leaders in Shillong

Shillong: The Kur Kharpran Shillong circle honored two key former leaders on Friday. They held a formal gathering at Dinam Hall in Jaiaw to celebrate the work of former president Bring Kharpran and former secretary Heavingstone Kharpran. The latter currently serves as the Mawryngkneng MLA.

Dozens attended the event. Members of the organization mingled with high-profile guests throughout the day. Chief guest RL Blah, who acts as the spokesperson for the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Kur Ka Bri U Hynniewtrep, led the praise alongside vice-president Aristotle Lyngdoh. Raphael Warjri, the general secretary of the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Kur Ka Bri U Hynniewtrep, also joined the festivities.

The group recognized the long-term impact both men had on the organization. Attendees filled the hall with songs and poetry to mark the occasion. Several office-bearers took the stage to deliver speeches. The event served as a platform for members to engage in conversation, as participants noted, "The function acknowledged the contributions of the two former office-bearers to the affairs and activities of the Kur Kharpran."
