Agartala: India has kicked off its first digital census. The government opened the self-enumeration portal on July 17 for households across the country. This system replaces paper records to improve data accuracy and transparency for future development projects. The window for submissions remains open until July 31.
Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee completed his family registration this Saturday in Tripura. He urged citizens to finish their submissions quickly to help the modernization effort. Bhattacharjee stated, "This is not only about saving your valuable time but also about joining hands in building a historic digital society."
Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder also joined the push. He requested that all residents record their details from home to ensure the process runs efficiently. Users must visit se.census.gov.in to start their registration. The portal requires a mobile number to generate a one-time password for secure access to the platform.
Officials believe this shift will streamline welfare planning. Better data means better policy. By letting citizens input their own details, the government expects to cut down on administrative errors. This process marks a significant step for national governance.
