Agartala: Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee took aim at substance abuse Sunday. He spoke at the 74th foundation day of Shibnagar Modern Club and Amra Tarun Dal Club in the Banamalipur constituency. The event featured a blood donation drive and an art contest.
Bhattacharjee touted the clubs as local institutions that drive community service, sports, and culture. He praised the organizers for holding an event that honors the elders of the area. He believes these gestures show true respect. "For 74 years, this club has been a pillar of social service, athletics and cultural life. Today, I feel proud to witness the honouring of our elders - a noble initiative that reflects the values of respect and gratitude."
The MP framed the slogan, "Say No to Addiction, Build a Healthy Society," as a necessary mandate for the future. He stated that this commitment secures a better environment for the next generation. High turnout marked the blood donation camp, while local youth filled the art competition. These activities highlighted the club as a vital hub for moral guidance and civic engagement.
